Author's Note: This is my first Heroe's fanfic! I hope you like it!
Spoiler's: It's a weird timeline....based on this year's upcoming Lunar eclipse, there is a new player in town with very dangerous powers (he won' be introduced until chapter 2 patience please :D ) Gretchen and Claire have been together for 8 months and are still attending University.
Chapter 1 The Eclipse
February 21nd, 2011 11:00 a.m.
“ I never meant for any of this to happen!” Claire cried as she re-lived the past three days “I didn’t meant for things to get out of hand dad! I know it was wrekless but I had to try! We had to try a different way...and now, and now she is dead.” Claire wiped her tears as she pushed herself away from her father’s embrace “we have to find Hiro, he can take us back”.
Claire’s father had heard this all before the choices Claire took often led to horrible consequences.
“ I Can’t let you do that Claire, I can’t let you go back in time and change everything.”
“ ITS OUR FAULT SHE IS DEAD..." yelled Claire "...it’s my fault” with tears in her eyes “She was....she is.. everything to me dad.” She said in a softer voice as she stare at the floor.
Noah’s heart broke with every tear his daughter shed “I know Claire, but where you want to go I can’t follow.”
Claire dried her tears angrily “fine but if you are not going to help me then STAY out of my way” before closing the door in her father’s apartment she turned with a resolved look “the lies, the half truths it ends now”.
2 months Earlier December 21, 2010 Arlington University 2:00 pm
Claire sat in the library staring at her Biology book knowing she had to start her assignment but slightly inclined to daydream about her friend... girlfriend?
She tapped her pencil in frustration as she finally closed the book in frustration and started heading out to meet the girl she had found herself completely enthralled with for the past year “its the hair...or maybe the smile” she though. Claire was so enthralled with her thoughts she didn't realize someone was staring intently at her.
“Hi! You are in my bio class! Claire right? I am Amanda.” Said a petite redhead as she extended her hand to introduce herself.
“Oh hey! Nice to meet you” replied Claire with confusion, as she barely recognize her from Prof. Stevenson’s class.
“Yeah im not big with the bio so I am putting in the extra 10 minutes of trying a day” Claire said smiling trying to follow her new resolution Must make new friends.
“I know what you mean, Stevenson is a real piece of work. Listen I am actually doing good in that class if you need any help here is my facebook and cell, that way you will know where to catch me!” the girl smiled and handed her information without hesitation to Claire.
Claire always trying to beware but at the same time faithful to her own promise decided to equally friendly “Thank you so much I will!”
As Claire stared at the piece of paper handed to her she felt a pair hands grab her softly from behind and whisper in her ear “what was that all about?”
Claire turned around grinning while putting her arms around the tall brunette “oh some girl wanting to get my digits, you know I am very popular among the ladies ” both girls laughed and hugged
“I missed you Gretch” Claire whispered she held tight to the embrace
”It’s good I came when I did!I Gotta watch out for these hormonal co-eds they might take you away!”
Claire smiled and rested her head on the brunnette’s shoulders.
“Never”
December 22, 2010 10:00 a.m.
“The lunar eclipse of 2010 is especially well placed for observers throughout North America. The eclipse occurs at the Moon's descending node in eastern Taurus, four days before perigee. The Moon's orbital trajectory takes it through the northern half of Earth's umbral shadow. Although the eclipse is not central, the total phase still lasts 72 minutes. “ stated the CNN correspondent on the TV behind Claire in the student union.
“Lunar Eclipse...huh ” though Claire as her cell phone rang
“hey dad!”
“Claire, it is very important that you listen to me right now, go to your dorm grab a bag I will call you with more information in a few minutes”
“Dad what is this about?”
“ There is an eclipse tonight at 10 pm, and we don’t know what the effects might be on you and we need to keep you away from danger, you got it?”
“ yes”
“ Claire.... be careful”.
Claire walks into her dorm room and finds Gretchen searching for something around the room. Hesitantly Claire seeks for Gretchen’s attention
“ Gretch...you know when my dad calls and says its an emergency....”
Gretchen replied finishing her sentence “ it means run? Yeap I know the drill” Gretchen smiled knowingly as Claire looked to the ground trying to figure out how to tell her she must go alone.
“Claire your Mr. Bennete texted me GPS Coordenates 10 minutes ago, let’s go I have everything we need.” Claire was completely speechless.
“What?”
“ I said...let’s go!” look under your bed” she followed Gretchen’s instructions and found
“Backpacks? Where did these come from?”
“They are not just backpacks! They are traveling backpacks: sleeping bags, money, ID's, water, clothes, GPS, compass, those really cool astronaut meals” said Gretchen as she pulled her backpack on and headed towards the door.
“We only have an hour before the train”
”Train?”
“let’s go slowpoke! I’l explain everything on the way” Gretchen grabbed Claire by the hand as she pushed her out the door with the other.

“Mohinder is everything ready for tonight?”
“Yes Mrs. Patrelli,are you sure that our powers are going to react that way?
“Mohinder I don’t pay you to ask questions, I am paying you to do a simple job all you have to do is keep him well sedated for tonight”

Chapter 2 PREVIEW - One of us, one of them
Monongahela National Forest, 4 hours later.
They received specifics instructions as to where Noah was going to pick them up once the Eclipse had passed: Monongahela National Forest k.4
“The lonesome Texas sun was setting low
And in the rearview mirror I watched it go
I can still see the wind in her golden hair
I close my eyes for a moment, I'm still here
The bluest eyes in Texas Are haunting me tonight
Like the stars that fill The midnight sky
Her memory fills my mind”
“ I love this song” grinned Claire as she admired the beautiful sundown, lake and mountains that surrounded them.
“ I’ve had this song stuck in my head for past .hmm oh I don’t know ... the past 12 months?”
A laugh escaped Claire. “Gretch ... thank you for coming with me.”
“Oh you are welcome! I’d much rather do this than study for Ronson’s Chemistry test”
“Come here” said Claire in almost a whisper she wrapped her arms around Gretchen’s slender body.
Gretchen held Claire’s body tightly.
“Claire... I have to tell you something, and it something you are not going to like...but it’s not your choice...it’s mine”
