Fair Warning

Just a friendly reminder to anyone who might see these words. If you filed an extension on your taxes this April 15, then your taxes are due on August 15, 2005! Just wanted to give a friendly shove to all those procrastinators out there. As a friend of mine says: "Dates on the calendar are closer than they appear!"

Anyone you know going to ask for another extension?

Could be! But then a choice might need to be made-me or the IRS?

Ever hear of the phrase "the shoemakers children go barefoot"?

I know an accountant who is in the process of now submitting their tax returns for the last 2 yrs. Talk about extensions!

How odd that you just now commented on this! It had a reason, at the time.
Yes, the shoemaker's children often go without shoes. I was at a hearing once where a pediatrician's children were being removed by the state from neglect.

My ex-husband is a drywall contractor.
He started finishing off the family room in our house when I was pregnant with our first son Brian. The room was finished just in time for Brian's SECOND birthday party.

I guess we could come up with lots of examples to prove that cliche to be accurate.

Sad, but true.

another example popped into my mind. (You do not have to feel compelled to reply to my sporadic list)

My father was a butcher and we rarely ate meat..since we were quite poor. Any meat we ate, I am sad to report, gave home strapped to his legs under his work pants. I laugh now but it wasn't funny then.

I was the director or an elementary school kitchen and so many nights dinner at home was just a frozen something since I was so pooped to do for my kids what I did for 400 during the day. Fortunately, that did not happen too often.

Have you any examples from your life?

A thought of less significant consequence than the pediatrician I mentioned: a friend of a friend is a professional photographer. He never has pics. (current) of his own kids. I think these kinds of examples are relatively common, actually. Something about human nature.
