So I'm going into my junior year as a mechanical engineering student which means its time to start trying to research under a professor at my school. So Monday night, I stayed in and read up on what a bunch of them were doing and I've been emailing with one of them all week and I'm gonna be working in his lab next year. Here are some excerpts of the emails about his projects

"The lab is empty now, but I have parts for several mobile robots stocked at my house and California and you should be able to hit the ground running. I also have great plans to buy parts for unmanned air vehicle simulators as soon as possible"

"My research is primarily on mobile robots and autonomous vehicles. An undergrad assistant might help us assemble robots and simulation platforms, operate the robots"

Thats right, I'm spending the next semester to possibly two years PLAYING WITH AND BUILDING ROBOTS. They're gonna have lazers and be wicked strong and fly. They'll do my homework and clean my room. It's gonna be sweet. My research is gonna be Terminator, I, Robot, A.I., STepford Wives and Mr. Sack's life all rolled in one. Oh man, the only way my mechanical-engineering-wet-dream can get better is if I can build nerf guns for them to shoot.
