having a cleaning service. I know, it's obnoxious but seriously I am the product of two unorganized parents and I live with an italian boy who never had to clean anything. Put us together and we're seriously a comical tag team cleaning duo. Ok, so I know I said in my last entry that I was feeling domestic (did I say that or was I just thinking it?) but I am domestic about some things. Cooking, baking, and even the occasional load of laundry. I just can't handle the deep cleaning. I seriously suck at it. So yes, I am thankful for the ability to have a cleaning service and for the fact that I finally realized it wasn't worth a whole Saturday to figure out how to deep clean a bathroom.
Now that I'm off my snobby, spoiled, soap box, what I am really thankful for is the past ten months. This truly has been an amazing year so far. January started off with the engagement and all of the fun and excitement that comes along with it. February we spent doing some serious exciting long term plans and March was fabulous because not only is my birthday in March, but my parents threw us an amazing engagement party. April was probably one of my favorite months because we took a fantastic vacation with my family. I never imagined that our Key West vacation with seven of us staying in a house with three bedrooms would be so marvelous, but it truly was. Let's cut to June when we received incredibly exciting news. We found out that my sister is pregnant with her first baby and the first grandchild for my parents. At this point I think I was just blown away with all of the events going on. Imagine... baby, wedding, all in one year? Well not long after that we found out that two of my cousins are also pregnant with their first babies! July came around and we celebrated Chris' birthday, and August was filled with as many trips to the beach as possible as we lamented the end of summer. September brought the beginning of the school year, and as much as I didn't want to go back to work, I was determined that this school year I would not allow work related stress seep into my life. It hasn't been easy, but it's working. Chris also surprised me with a getaway at the end of September which is just what we needed to reconnect after he'd been away and barely home from work for about a month. So far October has been fantastic. I truly am focused on staying positive and happy and not allowing myself to become consumed by work. I think this is really the happiest I've been in a long time and I know it's because I've finally found a balance in my life. It's not to say that I don't have bad days or ever get stressed, but all the excitement and blessings we have received in the past few months have truly allowed me to stay centered. Honestly, I can barely contain all of the excitement I feel about becoming a wife and an aunt, and all of my personal relationships have become closer and more meaningful.
I guess I really can't say it enough, but I think this is the best time of my life. I am glad that I'm in a place of joyous reflection.
I don't ever want to forget this feeling.
