Lots of Exciting News

So it's been awhile since my last update, but I have excuses and lots of exciting news. First of all, Christmas was great. Chris did his lovely rendition of Santa Claus not once, but twice for various cousins and family! During my week off I was able to sleep in, catch up on appointments etc., see friends and generally relax.

The end of break was quite exciting, as on New Years Eve Chris proposed to me and I of course said yes before he was able to ask the question! The proposal was incredibly sweet and thoughtful and will forever make my heart skip a beat. The proposal was followed with a night of New Year's Eve and New Year's Day celebrations and a weeks worth of flutter and activity. It is incredibly exciting and exhausting to be engaged. Not even one day after he proposed we were bombarded with "When's the date" and "where's the wedding" questions. The week flew by as I read a billion bridal magazines and already began negotiating with family. I'm trying incredibly hard to focus on the overwhelming excitement and happiness I'm feeling and not be bogged down with stress, but unfortunately I feel like I'm failing and the stress is winning. Last night I re-committed myself to avoiding stress and today Chris and I enjoyed registering at Williams Sonoma. How fun and exciting it is to walk around the store with the scanner gun and "buy" items we've ogled at for years. Of course the first thing we went to was the kitchen-aid mixer which I have visited at the store for many years. I can't wait to bake cookies with a real mixer!

As for this weekend I plan on relaxing and spending some time with family. The last few days have been somewhat hard for my mom and I as we negotiate wedding issues and I hope to spend some time with her tomorrow. I thought I was ready for this planning stress but apparently I wasn't. Hopefully from now on we can agree or at least agree to disagree.

On a much funnier note, my co-teacher told my students that I was engaged and many of them came in with little presents and cards the next day (to my surprise)! The cards are the best. They include things like "We hope you are happy that you are getting married," "We hope you like your new husband" and my favorite "we're glad you found a nice guy and that he don't lie." Ahh to be ten again.

And now if I can figure this out, some pictures:

Ok I can't figure it out. :(
