"There is no need for consideration. I'll marry Brandon," Kazuya replied seriously.

"What the bloody hell is wrong with you?" Brandon hollered.

"Very well, I'll see the two of you tomorrow for lunch and we can further discuss the details and the proceedings of the press conference," Mrs Blaire said calmly, ignoring her son's outburst, and making her way to the door with Kazuya right behind her.

"Mum, don't leave yet. I am not marrying Kazuya, she's out of her mind," Brandon continued ranting.

"I hope my son will be more composed tomorrow," Mrs Blaire said to no one in particular.

"Mum! Mum!" Brandon called out but Mrs Blaire merely waved him off.

"Alright, I'm going off now," Kazuya told Brandon after getting her boots on.

"You're not going anywhere till we set this right! What is this about you marrying me? Why did you agree?" Brandon started agitatedly.

"I merely pushed back my appointment with Mr Kitagawa, and I really need to go now," Kazuya changed the subject.

"What are you thinking?" Brandon asked in exasperation, feeling the urge to pull his hair out.

"Brandon, it is uncharacteristic of you to be acting up like this. We'll talk this over dinner alright?" Kazuya cut him off before rushing out of the apartment and into the elevator swiftly.

"Damn it!" Brandon shouted punching the wall.

"No one should go along with what my mother have in mind! Especially you Kazuya!" He cried out.

"Good afternoon Mr Kitagawa," Kazuya greeted politely.

"Good afternoon and pleasure to finally meet you Ms Kamenashi," Johnny shook her hand before asking Kazuya to take a seat.

"I apologize for delaying our meeting," Kazuya bowed slightly.

"It's alright," Johnny waved her off while Kazuya nodded plainly.

"Let's not beat around the bush, I'm sure you know why I called you here this afternoon," Johnny flashed her a smile that never quite reach his eyes.

"Yes," Kazuya answered straight to the point.

"May I ask what is your current relationship with Akanishi Jin?" Johnny started the ball rolling.

"We broke up recently. I guess you can consider us friends," Kazuya replied honestly.

"And the kiss?" Johnny probed, arching an eyebrow.

"It was supposed to be our goodbye kiss," Kazuya let out emotionless.

"But that is not what I heard from Akanishi," Johnny supplied looking at Kazuya pointedly.

She looked up at him and started giving him her side of the story, "We broke up months ago and ran into each other on the streets. I went to collect my things that day and he asked for a goodbye kiss. That is the whole story."

Johnny gave her a look before nodding and continuing with his questions, "What about Brandon Blaire?"

"Brandon is a friend of mine. And I just agreed to marry him a moment ago," Kazuya informed, her tone just as cold.

"What?" Johnny frowned.

He threw Kazuya yet another look before picking up the phone and asked for Brandon's manager. They waited for a few moments before the said man rushed in, his face flushed.

"Good afternoon Mr Kitagawa," Takizawa greeted.

"Didn't you tell me Brandon Blaire and Ms Kamenashi over here are simply friends?" He confirmed with the latter.

"Yes, that was what he had told me," Takizawa replied genuinely.

"But Ms Kamenashi just agreed to his marriage proposal," Johnny pressed on, looking at Takizawa sharply.

"About that, Brandon called me earlier to say that he is called back to New York already. His parents had arranged for a press conference on Friday, to announce that he is leaving the entertainment scene after completing all his projects at hand. And, he is an unwilling party of the arranged marriage between himself and Ms Kamenashi," Takizawa reported.

Johnny nodded before instructing him, "Call Brandon Blaire in tomorrow morning before his interview in the afternoon, we need to work out the details of his retirement from the industry. Oh, and call Akanishi Jin in, he should be in the jimusho today."

Takizawa nodded before excusing himself.

"I've mentioned that I will only agree to a meeting without Jin in the picture," Kazuya protested coolly, hinting that the other party is not upholding his side of the deal.

"There were too many unpredictabilities, and surprises. I should alter our original deal as I deem fit," Johnny replied simply, ignoring her protests.

"Then I shall take my leave now," Kazuya challenged, not backing away and left the room promptly.

Johnny didn't stop her either.

"What is wrong with you?" Brandon asked, trying to keep his cool.

"What could be wrong with me?" Kazuya looked at him innocently after swallowing her food.

"Neh, Ba-chan, I've decided to marry Brandon, are you happy for me?" Kazuya smiled at her grandmother.

"Of course, Brandon is decent and caring, as long as it is what you want I will be happy for you," Ba-chan nodded at her.

"No. Ba-chan, Kazuya is out of her mind. I am not going to marry her," Brandon gave Ba-chan a pleading look.

"Oh well, love can't be forced. Kazuya, if Brandon's don't think you are good enough for him then we will have to respect his decision," Ba-chan advised her granddaughter.

"No. Ba-chan that is not what I mean," Brandon explained trying to put things right.

"Brandon, I am not interfering. The two of you are responsible and mature enough to handle your problems," Ba-chan gave the both of them a pointed look before declaring she had finished dinner and would like to turn in for the night.

"Brandon, why are you so convinced that this is a rash decision of mine?" Kazuya decided to face Brandon's doubts and insecurities head on now that Ba-chan had given them space and retreated into her bedroom.

"Kazuya I know you. You don't love me," Brandon replied quietly.

"Brandon, look at me. I do love you," Kazuya started, "I love you enough to want to marry you, and to bear your child."

"No. Kazuya, you don't love me," Brandon looked at her with sorrowful eyes. He didn't like the way she was in self-denial right there and then. He didn't like it one bit.

"Jin is a thing of the past. I confess that he will forever be a part of me. He was my first love. But it has got nothing to do with my decision of wanting to marry you," Kazuya persuaded.

"Kazuya, Jin has got everything to do with your current decision. I am not marrying you. I believe you know my mother or I should say my parents rationale behind suggesting this marriage, and I am not just going along with it. I do not want things to be done this way," Brandon defended.

"Brandon, so you think I would blindly go along with a suggestion if I have not given it considerable thought?" Kazuya questioned.

"You've given it thought? You've only given it less than an hour before arriving at that decision!" Brandon argued sternly.

"It is not the quantity of time that counts. Do you love me? Still?" Kazuya asked earnestly.

"I do. I still love you," Brandon confessed.

"Do you think I am not worthy of you?" Kazuya probed.

"Why would you even think that?" Brandon scoffed.

"Then why is it you are opposing the marriage this strongly? If you think we need more time, we can always go along with the engagement and wait till the time is ripe before getting married," Kazuya suggested.

"Kazuya, my happiness lies in you. But your happiness does not lie in me, you should know that better than anyone else. Look at what breaking up with Jin had done to you the past month?" Brandon tried to convince her otherwise, still clueless as to why Kazuya was so keen on the marriage proposal.

"But I know it would have been even worse if you were not by my side," Kazuya replied honestly, gazing into the endless depths of blue.

"Kazuya," Brandon called out, but the latter shushed him, raising a hand to caress his left cheek.

"I wouldn't have been able to experience Love if you had not given me life. I would have been dead in the cold if you have not found me in the streets of New York. Jin and I wouldn't have come so far if not for your help, if you haven't set me right when I had been down. I wouldn't have been who am I right now if not for your constant support. I need you, Brandon. I can lose everything in this life, but I cannot lose you," Kazuya gave him a small smile, still caressing the side of his face, assuring him with her words.

"My parents are setting you up with me. Why are you going along with them? All that I have given to you throughout the years, I have never seen them as sacrifices, and neither do I need you to repay me," Brandon whispered, holding on the the hand that was caressing him almost lovingly.

"This is not repayment. This is me finally finding a way to reciprocate your feelings. I gave Jin up willingly. We have tried for a long time and it just didn't work out. Jin wasn't able to give me the freedom I needed and I was unable to soothe his insecurities. But you are different," Kazuya explained.

"But..." Brandon was cut off by Kazuya's question, "Or do you think you are incapable of bringing me happiness?"

"I do," Brandon replied dejectedly, refusing to look into Kazuya's eyes any longer.

"Brandon, where is your confidence? I believe in you. Don't you trust me?" Kazuya asked once again trying to reassure him.

"I am just the shy and invisible being, admiring you from afar," Brandon mumbled.

"You wouldn't be invisible to me if you didn't avoid me whenever I tried to get closer to you when we were a lot younger," Kazuya retorted.

"Are you sure about this?" Brandon asked for confirmation.

"As sure as when I had chosen Jin. But this time round, I am not only assessing the situation with my heart. I am using my head as well. I have woken up from my fairy tale, this is reality," Kazuya smiled sadly.

"If you are sure, I will accompany you on this. I will follow you wherever you may choose to go, even to the end of the world," Brandon promised.

"And now you are starting to sound mushy," Kazuya let out a soft chuckle before the both of them stood up and held each other tightly.

"But I have one condition," Brandon voiced out, suddenly looking very serious all over again.

"You are not going to appear in the press conference and we would not be announcing the engagement. Don't worry about my mother, I have my way in dealing with her," Brandon announced, silencing any further comment that Kazuya had wanted to voice out.

Just then, the door bell rang, Brandon got up to open the door without checking and suffered a blow in his stomach.

"Jin!" Yamapi pulled him back a tad too late.

"What's goin...Yamapi?" Kazuya gaped.

"Oi! Keep your best friend in check!" The lady lady shouted at her fiancé, Yamapi.

"Renchi?" Kazuya muttered even more surprised.

After a long time, the five of them met yet again, albeit in an awkward situation. Both Renchi and Kazuya were concerned about that strong blow Brandon had sustained, shooting glares at Yamapi and Jin.

"I'm ok. It's my fault for being caught unguarded. If the two of you keep this up, I swear I wouldn't live pass this night," Brandon mused while shrugging the two girls off him.

"We came here to talk! Can you not be so barbaric?" Yamapi reprimanded his friend, terribly annoyed that his fiancée had blamed him for Jin's outburst.

"Fine, let's talk!" Jin snapped, still glaring at Brandon.

"There's nothing worth talking about," Kazuya snapped coldly in retort.

"Oh there is," Yamapi interrupted cheerfully, in a desperate attempt to lighten the atmosphere.

"I am getting married with Renchi after her graduation and I'm coming back soon," Yamapi continued.

"Congratulations!!!" Kazuya and Brandon chorused in reply, happy that both of their friends had found their happiness.

"How did the two of you get together?" Kazuya mused, smiling genuinely at the couple.

"Well, we got closer after the incident at the club when I was still in Japan last year?" Renchi started.

"And I ran into her when I was in Europe, apparently she was in Germany for a conference with a couple of her classmates and her professor," Yamapi elaborated.

"I couldn't believe the coincidence, we ran into each other again when I traveled to New York for a Broadway Show over a long weekend," Renchi supplemented excitedly.

"Well, we kept in touch and the relationship sorta flourished?" Yamapi grinned sheepishly.

Kazuya chuckled at his shy expression, before holding Brandon's hand "And I am getting engaged with Brandon."

The room fell silent again. Renchi was the first to break the silence and brought Kazuya into her room claiming they needed to catch up and have their lady's talk while the guys can entertain themselves for a while.

"So...what is all this about?" Yampi asked Brandon.

"It's my mother's idea," Brandon started but was cut off by Jin.

"AND YOU WENT ALONG WITH IT?" Jin shouted angrily.

"Akanishi Jin, if you think this is a place where you can shout and do whatever you want can you please get the hell outta here!" Yamapi hollered at his best friend.

Jin glared at him angrily and Yamapi shot him a look challenging him. Jin looked away shortly after.

"Brandon, ignore this idiot over here and please continue," Yamapi flashed him a polite smile.

"It's my mother's idea but I have never intended to follow through it. Kazuya is keen, and wanted to give us a try. I agreed on one condition, we are never going to announce it to the public and she is not going to attend the conference my mother arranged whether my mother like it or not. The engagement stays within our circle of friends and family, the lesser the better. I don't want to make it official. I don't want to tie her down with me," Brandon finished, trying his best to work things out with the limited options he had at his hand.

"I sold us out," Jin muttered.

"Jin," Yamapi made to stop him.

"What do you mean?" Brandon growled, getting the hint.

"I was the one who called the reporter. I was the one who gave him the chance to take a photograph of that last kiss," Jin said quietly.

"Are you out of your mind?" Brandon nearly screamed, getting up from his seat.

"I am," Jin looked at him blankly.

"You are one selfish bastard!" Brandon hissed, grabbing him by his collar. "Do you know how much harm it caused Kazuya? She never needed these negative publicity. She don't belong in the showbiz. If you had ever love her, you should protect her, not expose her! This is as good as clipping her wings, destroying all that she had built for herself. Now they call her a collector of Johnny's idols. They dug up stuffs about all four of us! Akanishi, your little stunt spun out of control!"

"I'm sorry," Jin whispered and Brandon returned him a blow in the stomach, before throwing him back onto the sofa.

"Brandon calm down," Yamapi held him back.

"Calm down? When this guy first screwed up I called him so many times! I wanted him to sort things out with Kazuya and this coward didn't even dare pick up my calls! Didn't even apologize to Kazuya and now he gets us all involved and MY MOTHER flew her all the way from New York! You want me to calm down? You wouldn't say that if you have seen how Kazuya had been floating around the house these few months, a ghost of her old self!" Brandon lashed out heatedly.

"I know I'm a jerk. I wanted to use this to force Kazuya to come back to me. I wanted to take this chance to announce our marriage..." It was Brandon who cut off Jin this time.

"And knowing Kazuya, who still cares deeply for you, she wouldn't want you to look bad and will then agree to your proposal for the sake of your image. Then you believe that you can work things out again from there. Once you have nothing to hide anymore since you are pronounced to be married publicly," Brandon finished for him.

"Yes," Jin breathed out.

"You're using her weakness against her. You're despicable," Brandon gave Jin a disgusted look.

"I love her and I need her!" Jin argued through gritted teeth.

A/N: All parties of their complicated and messed up relationship are finally gathered together again. Well, good for Yamapi and Renchi who had already moved on. Jin, Kazuya and Brandon are all trying very hard to do what they believe is right. Jin is desperately trying to salvage his relationship with Kazuya after the break up. Kazuya desperately wanted a change in environment, and to move on. Brandon, well he is still the same old Brandon who always think of Kazuya's welfare, to protect Kazuya to his best ability, before anything else. Give them more time, they should be able to work things out soon. Hopefully.
