I've been looking at animal skeletons. I just caught myself thinking 'You know, I bet if you got one and attached a different skull, you could make it look like a dragon skeleton.'
The question is, would it have bat wings or bird wings? There is apparently a difference.

As for the wings, it really depends on how you wanted to build the dragon. Personally, I'd go completely Fiji Mermaid with something like this, in order to get it as anatomically sound as possible. If you wanted it to have a traditional 'dragon' appearance of four legs and a set of wings, you'd have to do some serious manipulation to the scapula and clavicle, as well as the angle of the humerus and spinal column, to in essence support two sets of shoulders on a shared deltoid and trapezius.
All this would really do is just limit the mobility of the creature and make it have to work twice as hard to get into the air.
Far better would be to remove everything from the humerus down on both sides, and replace it with a taxidermied combination of some sort of raptor (bird of prey), and perhaps the phalanges of a large fruit bat. The wing bones of the bird would appear robust enough to support the weight of the creature, and the added phalanges of the bat would give you that traditional dragon look.
For the base part of the skeleton, I'd almost definitely go for a feline. Most dragons are depicted as having a vaguely feline shape, but with thicker tarsus and phalanges on the feet. Closer to an iguana, maybe. Same for the skull, I'd say.
