I ended up keeping my loo-rolls on top of the towel racks. One pet-sitter 'helpfully' installed it for me. Then placed it back on top of towel rack after kitties had shredded it. Yes, up there for a reason!

Welcome to single-life-with-cat! Fun times ahead!

This is the current loo-roll though, I would really rather not keep them above my head. I might keep it on top of the cistern while he can't get about too easily though.

I just wish I knew *why* he hates loo-roll so much. Maybe it's the colour?

He doesn't hate it. He loves it. Looooooooves to play with it!

My cat chews on plastic bags. My dog licked rugs. Don't even try to understand.

I know why cats like plastic. Most sorts (especially carrier bags you get from the super market and the thin stuff that wraps a lot of packaging) are made with fish oils. The cats are just stupid enough to think they're eating an oddly-shaped fish.

haha what a comment to de-lurk for.

My cat is not stupid! Don't call her stupid!

Only I get to call her stupid :-) She's actually not bad, for a cat :-)

Mostly I think just bored. Craving something tasty to do :-)

Does this also explain why my other cat licked and bit photographs?

Each animal has its own idiosyncrasy.

Very likely.

Maybe I'm just biased about cat stupidity. We don't know what he did, but my partner's cat managed to tear a chunk out of his own face last night. It looks like he may have been scratching himself and didn't realise that you're not supposed to scratch yourself until you bleed.

Now he's got this big, nasty scab on the side of his face and we get to make sure it stays clean. :|

Oh your poor kitty! It wasn't another animal? An accident?

Some neurotic cats will lick/groom themselves too much out of anxiety. Maybe talk to your vet? There are mild tranquilizers that might help. Or maybe it needs toys (amazing what a few simple things can entertain a cat).

Or maybe I just need to shut up now :-)

No, it was him. We're pretty sure of it. He gets them behind his ears a lot because he's an idiot, and the one on his face looks suspiciously like those.

We buy them toys and they ignore them. We got them one of those cat trees, and they're afraid of it. I sometimes think they do this deliberately, just to annoy us.

Murph can't get to his ears because of his cone at the moment.

Every now and again he'll forget and go to wash his face and there'll be a little 'whap' noise.

I may keep him in the cone. I always know where he is by the sound of the cone bouncing off things. It's useful.
