to a new place.
We've been here about a month. The first couple of weeks, I scoop the cat box and it appears "normal" but then all of a sudden....nothing. My cat has stopped peeing.
I'm freaking out so I take her to the vet and they get her to "pee" so we are able to send some to the lab. Nothing is wrong.
So...I bring miss kitty home and 5 days pass with no wet in the litter box. She HAS to be peeing somewhere in the house, no way can she not pee for 5 days....
So all of a sudden it occurs to me her paws have been a little "grey" though she's a Torti (black, orange, white feet)....and I look at the fireplace in the living room (wood burning).
Yes my friends, my cat decided the fireplace was a litter box.
At least the mystery is solved and my fantastic cat who's never gone outside the box on a rug before is still not doing that. Moved her real litter box in front of the fire place and she's back to using her box.
I'm still laughing that she was crawling into the fireplace to pee.
