Hellll-o Helllll-o! (We are the Shrewsbury Boys!)
Last week we started classes and it sucks because I was enjoying my 2 month winter vacation. I´m taking 4 classes- 2 spanish ones, one called Mujeres, educación y trabajo (kind of a feminist class I am gathering), and one about surrealism in the movies & literature. That one might be kind of hard and it is from 7-9pm Wed & Thurs night so that is no fun at all. Right now thats the only thing keeping me from the weekend so it´s going to get old very fast. But other than that, classes are ok and I don´t start any class until 1pm so thats good.
Hm what else? Oh yea, I´m 22 now. We went out on the Friday night but Deedee and I didn´t get to the bar til 1am so when we got there my Belgian friend Imad stood on top of a chair and made everyone in the bar sing ¨happy birthday¨to me. Saturday wasn´t too crazy during the day and we were going to have a big party in our apartment before we went out to the bars but it was raining like crazy and we live far away so we ended up getting a taxi to the bars instead. It was a fun though and the birthday was good. The BEST part about my birthday has yet to come though. I am going to England one week from today courtesy of Olly and I´m staying for 5 days. SOO excited. I get to go to a Killer´s concert, watch my dear friend Scott race in the European trials in Birmingham AND I get to watch the Shrewsbury boys play some footy. I am excited to yell out my favorite Shrewsbury cheer (SEE journal title) and probably embarrass myself completely. I cannot wait.
This week has been full of class and I haven´t missed one yet! We´re going out to the same bar we went to last Thursday called the Bar Alegría and it´s kind of small and the music sucks but the drinks are cheap and the people are fun. Nicole, Deedee and I are getting some pizza tonight because we´ve been craving it so we´re going to have a few people over before we all go out to eat pizza hut & play American drinking games.
There hasn´t been too much exciting stuff going on. Nicole & Deedee are sick and I think I am maybe the only exchange student who isn´t. I am trying very very hard to stay healthy because I will cry if I am sick when I go to England.
Time for a siesta :) ¡Adiós!
