I've been unknowingly sucked in to a new, embarrassing fandom that I don't even want to admit to. *headdesk* I'm more of a twelve year old girl now than I was when I actually was a twelve year old girl. I was more like a twelve year old boy then, I suppose. What with the zombie movies and the punk rock and the fuck-off attitude.

I don't know, it's pretty embarrassing. I guess I'll have to admit to it eventually, as I seem to be pretty obsessed. I haven't been devouring this much fanfic since I discovered R/S many moons ago. All I can say is that it involves romance and vampires. *blushes* I miss my 12 year old boy too. And that sounds vaguely perverted.

Bandom kills me. I know that the fandom characterization is NOTHING like they are in real life, and there's a mad proliferation of AUs, which are fun, but the whole thing grates on my NEED to be canon compliant. It's kind of impossible in this situation though, you know?

How can you truly be canon compliant when you're dealing with real people? This often baffles me. It's not like anyone really knows these people, after all. Make them do whatever you want, I say! :P This bandom whatnot, is it one band specifically, or any band? I really have no idea. *is old & stupid*

You must think I'm a total perverted dork. I mean in the bad sort of way, you've always known I'm a perverted dork in the good sort of way. :p I feel the need to explain to you how I got sucked (haha) into this insanity.

You can't. There's no way, because we don't know them. And if we did know them we probably wouldn't be writing fic about them, because that would be weird. Er. Weirder. I stand on the rather spurious ground that I'm playing with caricatures of famous people, and not the people themselves. I have friends who aren't buying it though, which also makes me perverted in the bad way, so I don't think you have anything to worry about. ;)

Bandom is a lot of bands, and it took me a week to get the names straight. >.< Fall Out Boy, and then most of the bands on Decaydence (which Pete Wentz started) or Fueled By Ramen: The Academy Is..., Panic at the Disco, Gym Class Heroes, The Hush Sound, Cobra Starship. Then from there it branches off into bands that those bands have toured with. My Chemical Romance, Brand New, etc... It goes on. Boy is making fun of me something awful for listening to Fall Out Boy, but he seems to have mistaken Gym Class Heroes for something in a better league. :p That's mostly because GCH is rapping over pop-

Well.... I was directed towards this by someone on my f*list (scroll down to the screencap of the wiki page - oh, and turn the sound down if you're at work and have sound). The screwed with wiki page made me lmko, I wanted to know what they were talking about, what with all the 'dazzling'. So I downloaded the e-books. And even though they read like bad fanfic, I couldn't stop reading. It is very sad. I've always had a soft spot for vampires. And bad fanfic. The fandom is nastier and wankier than HP. Yikes. I think you should join me in my obvious insanity, if only for the lolz. :P

Hell, fandom is all about having fun. I'm sure most of them would be amused by it anyway. Wouldn't you? I feel very old -- of all the bands you mentioned, I've only ever heard 3 of them.

OMG. LONGEST USER INFO EVER. I actually have the third book in my apartment. I nabbed it like, 6 months ago at a trade presentation before it was officially released because I'd seen so many people talk about the first two. I have yet to read it, and I'm debating whether or not I should since I haven't read the other two.

Before this nonsense I was only really a fan of My Chemical Romance, Brand New (which sadly I haven't seen about the fic, I just hear rumours), and Panic. The others I was aware of, but didn't really listen to them. And as far as fic about them goes...

You can't read the 3rd book without reading the first 2, it wouldn't make any sense. The one on the right is Brendon, and I want to curl up in his voice and sleep all warm and snug, especially on the new album. And I'm already writing an epic piece of future fic shipping those two, so there is no time for Sex Tapes! I really want to get that one finished though. Mmmm. Also, I read in the mini-bios from the tour booklets that their bassist likes Harry Potter, which led to my friend and I discussing who he would ship, so now there may have to be fic about Panic writing fic about HP. :p

I will certainly take them. I have to say that my curiousity has been piqued. There are quite a few people on my flist who bemoan the fact that they've been sucked into that. *g*
