A Book!!!
A sixth Landover book!!!  OMG!!!

SQUEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those who don't know...  The men I credit for showing me that reading is really something wonderful are my father and Terry Brooks.  My father was the one who picked out this book from the huge bookcase for me one bored afternoon.  It was a plain-ish book with a blue dust cover that had a man kneeling with a wizard and a dog on the front.  It took me several months to get past the first chapter or two, but it was worth it.
The book was "Magic Kingdom for sale-Sold" by Terry Brooks.  It's the story of a Chicago Lawyer who has lost direction.  His wife died a few years ago, his law practice isn't as much of a joy as it used to be, life is boring in general.  That's when a Christmas Wishbook comes in the mail for his wife.  He flips through it, well on his way to drunk, when he comes across a magic kingdom for sale.  The ad says that he can buy Kingship for a Million dollars.  So he does.  And it's real.  And it's falling apart.  It hasn't had a King in 20 years.  The court consists of a dodgy Wizard, a scribe who has been turned into a soft coated Wheaten Terrier and two Kobolds.  There is no money and no one acknowledges the thrown.  And to add trouble, the magic of the land is failing due to lack of real King.  It takes him a while, and a few tries, but he does it.  He pulls the land together and brings it back to life.  And it's wonderful.  It was my intro to fantasy.  A valley in the mist with a single dragon, a failed Wizard, a wicked witch, fairy creatures, gnomes, knights....
There are Five books.  I own them all.  I love them all.  Some of them are a bit cheesy in places, but I don't care.  They're like my favorite quilt.

books are love
