Klingons are a warrior race. Honor is everything. So on and so forth, right?
So...
If you are a Klingon who has been captured, is escape honorable?
Think about it. You attacked. They beat you. They threw you in the brig to be dealt with later. You don't know what they're going to do to you. Is the honorable thing to stay put till you can figure out what to do, Or should you break out and wreak havoc?
I could possibly see breaking out in a sort of attempt to make them kill you in a fight. But I really think that that would be tantamount to suicide. Really, fighting just so you don't have to sit and wait to see what happens is a coward's way out.
