My little brother's girlfriend Aleigha was in an accident this weekend. Her car was broadsided by a drunk driver. She and her best friend who was in the car with her, are both in comas. Aleigha only has bad bruises, cuts and scrapes on the outside, but has internal damage causing the coma. They don't know when or if she will come out of it. Her best friend has a shattered clavicle and femur and a brain hemorrhage. They do not expect her to come out of it, or to have normal mental capacity if she does.
The drunk driver walked away, barely cut or bruised at all.
My brother is devastated, especially since he's here in Ohio and she's down in North Carolina where she's attending nursing school. He's currently losing his mind and pacing the house like a caged animal because all he wants to do is go and be with her. As soon as he hears for sure if she's being transferred to a hospital in Massachusetts or not, he will be on the road.

She turned a mere 22 years old on the 17th of February. She was doing great in school and was supposed to graduate in April. She may never be the same. My brother may never be the same. All because some dumb ass couldn't bother getting a DD, calling a cab or taking the bus. Please don't be a dumb ass and drive drunk. Please. You may not be the one that gets hurt.
