Title: The Unfair Ways of Life
Theme: Rejection
Number: 1/100
Pairing: Eunhyuk-centric
Rating: PG
Word Count: 817
Disclaimer: Sadly, I only dream of owning Super Junior.
Warning: Besides that fact it’s me writing, I guess there’s slight angst. And bad attempt at humor. And a sad Hyukkie.
Summary: Sometimes it can happen to anyone, even to idols.
This wasn’t supposed to happen. This was never supposed to happen. Yet it did, much to Eunhyuk’s dismay.
The boy just lay with arms and legs spread all over his bed and just stared at the ceiling above in thought.
In all twenty-three years of his life, Eunhyuk has never faced this. He usually won over people with his innocent cheerfulness and gummy smile in an instant. With his small jokes and friendly, inviting attitude, Eunhyuk got along with most people that came across his path. And no one could forget the graceful and effortless way in which Eunhyuk could move his body. So it really was easy to see how simple it was for Eunhyuk to become friends or well-liked by whoever he met. And that made it even easier to see exactly why Eunhyuk was confused and with a hint of frustration.
Eunhyuk did everything. He turned on his charm while conversing with her, telling her what she wanted to hear. He showered her with tons of gifts that he knew she would love. He spent as much time as he could with her if he wasn’t needed at work. So after all of his hard work and devotion, Eunhyuk believed it was time to pop the question.
And the result? Flat out rejection.
Yes, as unbelievable as it sounded, Eunhyuk, a well-known idol, was curtly denied. After all of his hard work and natural allure - as he himself called it- the last thing Eunhyuk was expecting was to be turned down. And it really stung.
So there he lay, depressed at the turn of events that had unfortunately happened to him. The sight itself was quite disheartening. The last thing the members wanted to see was their usually lively monkey moping around. But Eunhyuk would hardly talk to them, merely staring at the floor or table in front of him, still thinking of ways to win over her heart.
Letting out a gloomy sigh, Eunhyuk turned over onto his side and curled into a ball and stared at the wall opposite him for a change. But a soft knock at the door broke the young boy’s concentration.
“Yes?” he responded monotonously.
A brunette head popped out from behind the door. “Hyukkie?”
“Hm,” Eunhyuk said in response.
Dong Hae frowned. “Are you still moping? Everyone’s getting worried.”
This made Eunhyuk frown as well. “I’m not moping,” he mumbled.
Dong Hae walked over and sat on the bed. “I know it’s hard to deal with, but it happens to everyone.” Eunhyuk remained unresponsive. “Think of it as a small bump in the road.”
“This is a huge bump!” Eunhyuk said. “This is setting back everything. I had everything planned out and this just ruined it all.” He folded his arms and pouted. “I hate this.”
Dong Hae crawled onto the bed and lay behind Eunhyuk. He then wrapped his arms around the older boy’s thin waist and buried his face in his hair. “You think I don’t? You know I hate seeing you like this, Hyukkie.”
Eunhyuk looked down at the arms around him and started playing with the younger boy’s hands. “But I just don’t know what to do. I need help.”
Dong Hae smiled. “Finally,” He said up, much to Eunhyuk’s disappointment. “You can come in now.”
Eunhyuk stared at the door and he wasn’t surprised at who Dong Hae had brought in for help.
Kyuhyun extended his open hand towards his hyung. “DS.”
Eunhyuk sighed and walked over to his desk. Opening his drawer, Eunhyuk picked up his jet black DS that was neatly placed there and put it in his dongsaeng’s hand. “Good luck.” Sitting back down on his bed next to Dong Hae, Eunhyuk waited as Kyuhyun opened the device and started pressing buttons. Letting out a sigh, Eunhyuk laid his head on Dong Hae’s shoulder who then began to soothingly rub the older boy’s arm.
“There, “ Kyuhyun said after a few minutes, handing the electronic device back to Eunhyuk.
Eunhyuk looked at Kyuhyun in disbelief and then at the screen, surprised to see that he was now happily married to Julia. “How did you…?”
Kyuhyun shrugged and walked to the door. “What can I say? I have a way with women,” he replied smugly and closed the door behind him.
Eunhyuk just continued to stare at the screen, a grin gradually growing on his face. Dong Hae smiled and hugged his hyung around his shoulders. “Happy now?”
Eunhyuk nodded, beginning to play with the DS in his hands.
“No more moping?”
Eunhyuk shook his head, attention still on the game.
“So now you’ll spend more time with me, right?” Dong Hae asked, happy that he was getting his monkey back.
“…after I spend some long-awaited time with my new wife.”
And that’s how Super Junior went from dealing with a moping monkey to putting up with an attention-deprived fishy.

A/N: Sigh. This is what happens when I don’t get to play Harvest Moon because my sister likes to hog the game to her little spoiled self. And it really is frustrating trying to get married. Girls aren’t that picky in real life…most of the time. And it was hard to write this since well, I get teary thinking of a sad Hyukkie. *sniffles*
And I guess it’s a weird place to start with the 100 fanfic challenge, but I just picked a random number and so here it is. I have nothing to do without internet connection so I wrote this in my hotel room. Four more to come soon hopefully, if I get good inspiration. Hope it wasn’t too horrible. Love is appreciated <3
