Mondays are not my favorite...

I finally sucked it up and called St. Kate's about reapplying. I've been putting it off and putting it off. I've really been trying to work on my avoidance issues when it comes to things that might be difficult/involve swallowing my pride. Baby steps, Heather, baby steps.

I talked to the advisor, who I think remembered me from when I applied for Fall 2006 admission. She's always very nice and helpful.

Since St. Kate's is trying to get their own program ALA-accredited (right now the program is through their sister/brother/whatever school down in Chicago), they had to change their admission process. Winter 2007 is the first term that the new process applies to. Basically, I don't have to resubmit my transcripts. They'll keep the two recommendations that I already have on file and she recommended that I get a more recent one (I'm thinking my volunteer supervisor at the library). The personal statement has been changed. Instead of one huge general "So, tell us about yourself and why you want to go here" to several specific questions. Whoo-hoo! Give me a topic to write on and I can go to town.

There's a packet outlining the new procedures on its way to me right now.

Here's to hoping I start library school in January!
