Today was long. Another week of break would have been amazing. Word has been spreading around the school about what teachers had their contracts renewed. So far we are losing 12 teachers. Most of those had no idea they were not going to be offered contracts. Some of the reasons given were not sound; however, administration has shown time and time again they do what they want to do.
After a very long day, I got to talk to a wonderful friend for a bit. It's been nice having them on campus. We think alike (scary as that may be) and see the school for what it is.
Then off I ran to see the doctor. They informed me I should have another colonoscopy this year...ummmm, I think I'll wait 2 more years thank you very much. They've ordered a bunch of blood work (no shock) and a CAT scan, both to be done before returning in a month. On the up side this doctor's scale said I was as much as 5 pounds lighter than I was 2 weeks ago at my GP! YES!
After the visit there I jumped into my car and raced off to Inverness. The ONLY cobbler is almost 30 minutes. My bag o shoes was ready and they look great (except for 1 small mar on the sole of my Steve Madden boots). Five pair of black shoes are all shiny and ready to wear!
Feeling brave I decided to venture into Wal-Mart on the way home, after all I had to drive right past the Super Wal-Mart. I am convinced Wal-Mart drugs their air. I can't seem to go in there without spending at least $50.
Darling Husband had emailed me earlier in the day about his 'Moody Monday' so he needed something to cheer him so cookies and banana bread jumped into my cart. Then a couple pair of shorts like he likes to wear in the house found their way into my possession. Next were the things I went to get: black socks for me and black tights for me. A bag for $3 in purple and pink with "Club Drama" emblazoned in gold was going to have to find a home in my things. After all, it was pink and purple, was shiny and said Drama on it!
On a whim I cut down and aisle to get back to the cashier and found Easter gifts marked down 75%. Miss Amelia needed a bunny and there was a beautiful soft pink on that just hopped into my arms an begged for a home, how could I say no? Next to Miss Bunny was a blue lamb that pleaded to not be separated from his bunny friend. When I offered to take him to keep my almost 90 year old granny company in her new apartment (we are having to move her into an assisted living facility this week), his little lamb tale almost shook itself off. He thought he would be a wonderful companion and leaped into the cart.
Continuing forward I found myself in a dollar section. Popcorn for the trip this week was a must. Then a sweet smell wafted into my nose and a sparkly aura caught my eye. Looking to my left I saw them: Twilight Sparkle Hearts! Only $1 a box and all 3 box designs. I admit I giggled and scooped up one of each style. How could I not get them?
In the end, it was a $57 Wal-Mart trip but the Sparkle hearts may have made it worth it.
