Am I the only one who missed this?

"This" as in the alternate script to the Buffy finale.  I only skimmed it, but I think it was mos def more interesting...

Spike:  Give it to me.
Dawn:  You want it, you're going to have to take it.

Hmmm...interesting. There are definitely some things in this that make me go, "Huh," Things that don't seem like Joss would have come up with them, like not Buffy coming down the stairs to Spike in the basement, but First/Buffy. It could have been a first draft or something, but Joss does seem to indicate on the DVD commentary that he intended it to be Buffy. The only thing that would make me think it's valid is the montage of Buffy walking down the school hall, seeing everything that's happened in the past. Joss does mention that he had to cut that out on the commentary.

I will admit that I always thought that it made sense for Dawn to be a Potential, what with the being part of the Slayer thing. Of course, "Potential" seems to bunk that idea, but it would have been a good way to go. Also, I could see Dawn trying to sacrifice herself. She thought about it on the tower. However, I don't think a slayer would have died from the amulet, though. It was the sunlight that the amulet harnessed that killed the Ubervamps and Spike. Maybe the energy itself would be enough to kill a Slayer, but Buffy's tan is evidence that they don't have a sun allergy :-P

And you're probably gonna kill me for saying this, but is it wrong that I would have felt better about Xander dying than Anya? :-P I liked Anya; she was always a breath of fresh air.

Also, who the hell's hand is that coming out of the rubble? Is it Spike's? Is it an Ubervamp? WTF? :-P

I don't think a slayer could wear it though. Someone with a soul but someone more than human. But also a champion, which slayers aren't. I mean cause think of it--slayers are physically stronger than vamps, and don't have a sun allergy, but they aren't "champions," so it's no dice or whatever. Also, I think it was poor planning on Joss's part--there was no way Spike was going to make it out of there, even if it wasn't for the stupid amulet. Escape on a school bus on a very sunny day with all of those friggin windows? It would be a sunlight prison for Spike had he made it. I don't know, it just seems like one of the buses should have had the foil protection...Tangent, sorry.

And no, I'm not gonna kill you for saying that. If I'd had my choice of character deaths, well...I'll just keep that to myself. I won't begrudge you Xander though. But seriously, why not Kennedy? Why couldn't they give us that? Did anyone like her? Like one person? No? That's what I thought :P
