I wouldn't have minded to have Dawn being eaten up by that energy in the Hellmouth. What Joss did to Spike's character in Angel's 5th season and the comics totally ruined it for me. I still feel angry although it's been years now...
Really? Wow...this is new. I love Angel season five above the rest, and I'm stupidly happy that Joss is far, far away from the Angel comics, because IMHO, the Buffy comics are just made of fail (cept for that Jane Epenson Harmony issue. And maybe the Faith arc). Why didn't you like it?
in the season 8 comics, Buffy is the leader of the slayer army, feeling isolated and lonely, so lonely that she is getting into a sex-only relationship with a Japanese slayer who is totally in love with her. (I think lez Buffy is extremely out of character) and Spike in the After the fall comics is living in Hell-A Huhg Hefner style, with the red silk pjs AND being involved both with Illyria and a demon chick called Spider
so I'm really disappointed in Joss because both comics are being released with his approval on the plot...
Oh, he wasn't involved *involved* (sexually) with Illyria. And Spider was almost out of necessity for escape at first from her um...well, I think Master is appropriate, since she had control over the demon women harem (right?). I'm guessing you stopped reading those? If so, I do rec it (with Spike After the Fall as well--could clear some of that up).
Totally on board with your Buffy comic assessment though. And not only that, they apparently haven't done anything to help people at all in the 21 issues. Everything is about their own agenda, and oh yeah, they rob banks, among other things...I don't know what mission they're on, but whatever the hell it is, I stopped reading it long ago, not caring to find out.
I wasn't able to go to Austria (we don't have them in Hungary) to get the latest issues and I couldn't find any scanned ones on the net so I think the last issues I've seen was the first in Spike:After The Fall and issue 16 of the Buffy comics...
