Eh, What the Hell?

Although, it'll majorly suck if I get no responses...

Pick any character from a fandom of mine and I'll answer the following questions:

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her.
2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
4) How much ( Read more... )

1)Wesley is someone who constantly needs approval from someone he greatly respects and/or admires or loves (Angel, Fred, his father), due to the neglect he endured as a child from his father. He is incredibly smart, sensitive, and can be ruthless if need be. Wesley is the one who has to make the hard decisions. Even if they are unfavorable, he will still make them. A scholar and an outcast...That's why I like him.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Very much so, yes. Wesley with his big books and his big brains and magical background, he's like this broody cross between Willow and Giles and gets to maintain the sexy accent all the while.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
I can and he does. I'm not exactly sure why, though...

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?

Oh, I love the fandom. I don't think too many other folks do, though. Not this part of it, anyway. The Ats fandom...it can be a lonely place, I think.

5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)

Not really, no. I didn't enjoy Wes/Fred, and if it weren't for Spangel and Cangel, I might have shipped him with Angel. His relationship with Lilah had potential, but as it stood, was too toxic. However, Wes/Illyria intrigues me...hrm...

6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
To have him not die in the series finale. And, to have had him defend himself more with the whole Connor thing. I didn't get why everyone turned their backs on him, knowing that he'd been played...Angel I got, but not everyone else.

7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how would you see yourself interacting with him/her? Would you get along well? Fall in love with him/her? Dislike? Have a friendly rivalry?
I would not be opposed to dating him, no. He has a lot of components that I like in a man, and isn't afraid to be utterly silly. He notices hair changes and remembers birthdays, and is dedicated. Nothing wrong with that.

8) Wes is in my top five from both series.

9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about this character (if you dislike) to someone new to fandom?
I think I'd hype up the show as opposed to him specifically...he has too many subtle layers to hype him up properly. This is a character one just has to watch from start to finish.

10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?

I don't think he is, sadly...and then, some try to woobify him or whatever, which I don't get [or want], but yeah--I think that would be more marked in the no column.

Nope, nothing wrong with that. :)

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her.
I don't know...I thought I liked Oz, but I came to realize that he was just there. I felt pretty indifferent to him.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Yes and no. I'm not sure Buffy and the gang would have felt as benevolent to werewolves had Oz not been one. I think they would have stuck even more solidly to their black and white view of the world, actually. Oz was like, step two.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
Not really, no..

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
A lot!

5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)
I thought Oz and Willow were sweet, then later, I think I was filled with not caring very much. Actually, I just had this weird thought where he was in a relationship with Xander. Yes, Harris.

6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
Perhaps make him taller :p

7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how would you see yourself interacting with him/her? Would you get along well? Fall in love with him/her? Dislike? Have a friendly rivalry?
I think we'd hang out, but he doesn't talk much, so I'm not sure how that'd work...

8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?
Gotta go with a no on that.

9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about this character (if you dislike) to someone new to fandom?
I'm not sure I'd mention him at all, let alone hype him up...huh.

10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?
Honestly? I'm not sure. I don't think anyone dislikes him, at any rate.
