Thank you. I completely agree about Giles. I had trouble even identifying him in that book and his death just doesn't register as anything else than a cheap shock effect to mimic a concept that has lost it's soul with it's move to comic books.

I don't know why Joss started the comic books, because for him the money from the comics can't be all that important. Maybe he was bored during the writer's strike and signed up for the project only to lose interest later and with no real story to tell. Also without the possibility of stopping it because by now DH was depending on him to make them money.

It ended being some kind of Buffy in comics parody, with no more value to canon then the Buffy-Simpsons comic or the next generation of sexy slayer statues that's coming out.

You're more than welcome :)

I agree about Joss and boredom, and then the money thing...

I do think it's interesting, however, that they had Twangel not be in vamp face in the panel of the Giles and the neck snapping (and could the font/styling of the word "SNAP" be anymore...inappropriate?) as they had Angelus be with Jenny Calendar. Just more proof how much the comics don't matter (to Joss) IMO.

eversince that first Satsu kiss, I think of these comics as some kind of parody, which was funny at first, now it smells like sweat and money. You know what? If the new movie ignores the comics, I am on board with it and going to watch it!

Oh my God! Giles is dead?! No wonder I don't follow the comics. :/

I felt very disaffected when reading it, if that helps?

Besides killing off Giles, did they end up sending magic away? I was wondering if he made Dawn go poof, too, because there was a lot of speculation on that.

Don't really care, personally. Just curious how idiotic it ended up.

Yes--Buffy broke the "seed" after Giles' out of the blue demise, and Willow is now all powerless and stuff. (Willow: We lost!! even though the demon hordes from Team Evil were sucked away...)

No word on Dawn yet, but I think she should be. But that's only if the story made sense and it doesn't for like 85% of the time, so...

You've hit the nail on the head, sweetie. It's best not to forget that bottom line, Mutant Enemy and its subsidiaries constitute a business, and the business of business is making money and garnering notice. And Giles' character? Well, other have come back from the dead, so maybe. I'm having trouble seeing the long term sense of losing a major character, but "sense" doesn't seem to be what's going on right now. Let it be as water off a duck's back. Pfffffft!

Okay, totally heard The Apprentice/"Money Money Money" song in my head when I read that.

Giles being resurrected...the magic is gone from the world, so I'm not sure how that will work. On the other hand, I'm not expecting them to follow through on the text that's been given, even though what's been given is beyond ludicrous..
