I really love books, but lately I've been neglecting my reading :< I have maaaaany favorite ones, so I'll list only a few that I've read recently and loved.
#3. The French Lieutenant's Woman by John Fowles
It was a book for my British lit. class, but I really liked it. It's a story about an unmarried woman in the victorian age but the author is contemporary. The amount of intertextuality, metafiction and witty comments about men, women, sex and hypocrisy in those times in England is amazing XD really good book.
#2. The Angel's Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
It's a kind of sequel/prequel to Zafon's previous book The Shadow Of The wind. I must admit I liked the Shadow better (but that's only because I love the 20s and 30s XD), but Game is still a good piece of literature. Mystery, beautiful scenery, murder and the really intriguing fact that it's a book about books.
#1. The Shining by Stephen King
A true classic of horror/thriller. It's really scary even though, there is not much violence, the supernatural stuff is very ambiguous, but the mindfuck that the characters are experiencing and the reader along with them is true.
