“Welcome to Intermission…”
So, after nine-ish months in the ‘Burg, I’m home. I feel like I ought to be feeling a complex torrent of emotions right now, but I don’t. actually, at this precise moment, I am relatively emotionless. it’s not that I don’t miss kids from school or that I’m unhappy, here. but I’m only in town until May 31st, so this whole “home” thing is only a transitional phase. almost like an intermission…. (note ironically symbolic choice of “Current Music”) I guess I’m really just coming to grips with the idea that even though home will always be home, it will never really be the same home, again. and there are other things “out there” that I would like to see. and I am okay with that.
but that’s enough introspection for a while. since I’ve been home, I’ve done a lot of not very productive things. hung out with Alison and some photo dorks on Friday night, and Saturday was Richard-day (until 6:00). it was really good to see him. today, I meant to do some room-cleaning and unpacking, but somehow I ended up falling asleep on my bed for an hour and fifteen minutes. so sad…. perhaps I will get stuff done tomorrow? (yea, right.)
oh yea, today is Mother’s Day. here are some pictures that my brother and I found while constructing a Mother’s Day gift:
I like to reminisce about how cute we were.
okay, so here are some photos from the last semester. actually, the first one is from my birthday (March 16), but the other two are from last week.
This is a picture of me, Michelle (Poopface), and Laurel (Porkchop) from my birthday dinner. Note my awesome New Mexico T-shirt, courtesy of Laurel.
Here's a photo of Jenn and I. (Jenn was/will be my roommate.) We are trying to hold up Wilson Hall. Sometimes, we like to sing Lisa Loeb and Celine Dion, together. And we like to look at the moon.
Ahh… the railroad tracks. Although you cannot see them in the picture, Me, Susan, and Jenn are standing on the railroad tracks that run through campus. Why anyone would put a college across railroad tracks is beyond me, but it makes for some fun times and a number of urban legends.
so there's not a lot going on right now. I'm just sort of vegetating until I leave for camp. (and I will be working, 24 hours/day, for 10 weeks, minus days off. I'd say that's a good excuse to vegetate.) things are kind of non-eventful, but then, it's still good to be home.
until next time… :O)
