I fgured you guys would appreciate this story...
So the news came to the aquarium the other day, and my once supervisor, now coworker, Adele, told me that she wanted me to talk about the octopus when they visited her tank.
So they're filming other parts of the aquarium, and then Adele fetches me and we go open up the octopus tank. The camera turns to me, this bright light turns on, the octopus comes out of her corner to see what's happening...and I say,
"Um...uh...this is an octopus. It has eight arms. And...lives underwater. In cold water. In very cold water, it's, like, fifty degrees in here. She...octopuses are really smart. Like, they can break out of their tanks if you let them. Yeah, really smart. Very strong, too."
And THEN she decided this was a perfect time to try to crawl out of her tank so that was also extremely distracting and I basically stopped talking while I tried to keep her in the water!
After what felt like forever (and at the same time, less than ten seconds), the camera crew was like, "OK, let's wrap this up."
I had a whole shpiel prepared and when I saw that camera I just went like, "... D:" Hahahaha! I sucked at the moment but it's pretty funny now.
