I applied for one of the positions at Seattle Universtiy. Here are the main benefits to working there rather than at my current postion.
Work week = 37.5 hours rather than the current 45 to 50 hours I'm working
Medical Benefits = 100% paid (I know, I can't believe it) with two options Blue Cross PPO or Group Health
Holidays, Paid Vacation and Sick Leave = 11 days + the week of Christmas and amended summer hours, 10 vacation days, and 1 sick day accrued per Month up to 40 days. Right now all my vacations, holidays and sick days come from the same, seemingly less generous pool.
Exercise facilities = full access for employees and family to all athletic facilities including raquetball, tennis and more.
Education = free after first three months of employment up to 6 credits at a time.
The downside is that I wouldn't really be responsible for much, but the upside is that I wouldn't really be responsible for much. Oh and the commute, as far as I can tell, would be shorter by 10 to 15 minutes a day.
