I'm searching....

I can't remember if I posted about a potential job switch here before or not...OK sure, I could just go look in my posts...but why bother...repetition is fun!

So a while back, probably in June, I got an email from a recruiter in my work inbox. This isn't odd. A few times a year I get a message that basically says:

"We're looking for an experienced professional...if you know anyone who is on...please pass this message to them."

I generally delete.

This message was different. It said:

"We're looking for an experience professional and we hope you will apply for this job."

So I did.

They liked my resume and asked me to write an essay and fill out a form with some additional information.

They liked my essay. They asked me to interview with the lead recruiter on the job. That was last week, Thursday.

The interview went well. At that point I was one of 10 candidates. I sent a personal thank you letter to the recuriter (handwritten and everything). He emailed me asking me what it was again that I had asked him to send me. I emailed back. He sent me the info. I thanked him.

Today I get an email that said:
Congratulations. You are one of 5 final candidates who have been selected to interview with the Executive Director (read C.E.O. if you aren't used to non-profit lingo) and the lead recruiter again. Please reserve the date of August 30th, more information about the interview schedule will follow. Please also complete and fax back the attached background check release form. (standard for any organization that works with marginalized, victemized or at-risk populations)

So that's it. I got another interview! Excuse me while I go find a fax machine.

job, career
