so a week ago, i was only DREAMING of going back to Japan....
then a few days later, that dream became a reality.
we were told that we could stay at my japanese university for $25 bucks a night. i was thrilled. with that news, my father bought our airline tickets. then a few days after that, i get the bad news: our reservations have been revoked. and we wont know the FINAL outcome until next tuesday.
i panicked. some angry emails were exchanged, and I felt i had to take things into my own hands because nothing else was being done.
so after SEVERAL hours of searching....i kept finding extremely expensive hotels. it frustrated me because i know there are REALLY good deals in japan that you can only learn about if you lived there. so FINALLY, i found a traditional japanese hotel....$48 A NIGHT!!! omg. i emailed them...and within the hour, they emailed me back saying they were full. i was so disappointed.
then 20 min later, they email me again, and as luck would have it, someone had JUST called to cancel their reservation in the SAME week we needed it. *sigh of relief*
so now we just need somewhere to stay for the first two days.
i am looking for us to stay at a Ryokan, traditional japanese guest house. that way, we can experience the FULL culture of japan.
it seems like the trip is coming more into focus.
i really wanted to start planning what we can do, but i wanted to make sure we had a place to sleep first.
i cant believe i am going to Japan for spring break. this is awesome.
