Two curses in one week can take a lot out of a little girl. She is staying in bed for the day, thank you very much.]I liked that last curse. I've always had private tutors, ( Read more... )

Ahem, Miss Merryweather - you're looking most exquisite today. That air of absolute calm is certainly a compliment to your natural beauty.

May I have a moment?

Well, I was wondering whether you'd set down any of the masquerade specifics: when would you like to have it, how many people are you thinking of inviting, would you like to hold it anywhere particular, and is there some kind of theme?

I had originally planned it to be a summer masquerade, but so many things happened that I wasn't able to get it done by summer. So I think I'd like it to be sometime in September. I want the ball to be open to everyone in the City-- only if they RSVP, of course-- and I want it to be open air.

But um...other than the masquerade theme, do you think an autumn theme would be alright? Or should there be something else?

Open air in September... that might be a little difficult, but... we'll have to consider an indoor alternative too, of course, or maybe layout it half-and-half, so there's an indoor section to take cover at nightfall, but an open area for dancing?

Weeeell, usually people like masquerade themes to be a little more concrete: it's easier to find a costume, see? If you just say 'autumn'... I think everyone would come dressed as a leaf.

Oh, yes, I wouldn't like people to catch cold. But the night sky is lovely in September, so I'd like people to get a chance to dance under it. So a half-and-half layout is perfect.

Ohh, that's true. Um...what about a magic or fairy tale theme? Like faeries, princes and princesses, mythical creatures and monsters...what do you think?
