begin again the work of remaking

I paraphrase President Obama, the bit where he was speaking to me:
"You are no less productive than when this crisis began. Your mind is no less inventive, your skills and talents are no less needed than they were last week or last month or last year. Your capacity remains undiminished. But the time of standing pat, of protecting narrow interests and putting off unpleasant decisions - that time has surely passed. Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking"

Italics mine, the rest was Mr Obama.
I thought he did very well by the way, he sounded erudite, compassionate and inspiring and looked very handsome. He is welcome to dinner at my house.

But this isn't about Mr Obama, its about me. I am no less capable of the things I must do and the work that is before me than I was last year and if some things I held dear have turned to dust in my hands I am no less than I was and must go on.
