“Well, Lian hasn’t gotten kidnapped once since I hired him and the house is spotlessly clean, plus he came with Dinah’s highest recommendation...”

“But...I don’t know. I mean I knew ahead of time that he didn’t “exactly play by our rules”.
But weeks ago I came home to find a unconcious guy under the sofa. Apparently, the guy tried to buglar the house and Creote had beaten him with a shovel every hour on the hour.
When I asked why he didn’t just call the police, he said ‘Serious brain damage is the only way to ensure he won’t try to rob us again.’ I hid him under the sofa so as to not to upset Lian.’ “
“Yeesh. So how does Lian feel about him?”
“She seems very taken with him. She likes his cinnamon sugar pancakes and the fact that he is generous with his piggyback rides.”
