An exciting move! Well done you for identifying the cause and making the scary decisions to change course. May I suggest, if you're worried about income, look in to doing some temp work? It gives you the opportunity to try some 'new careers' without any pressure or responsibilities for the company long term. I've been working through Stop Gap here in the London and they have at least one branch in Australia, but may also be in Melbourne. They are predominantly communications based, but certainly an option work-wise if things get worrisome - or they might be able t point you in the right direction otherwise.
Also, this was the site i wanted to look up and pass on to you: https://www.todayimwearing.com/ It's not displaying for me, but I underatand it to be a little bit like Pintrest but you post photos of your outfit and other users comment, like etc. And through tagging, people can go and buy the look you have. Thought it might interest your stylist side and also act as an opportunity to champion some of the op shop finds and style you so often reimagine.
Good luck with it all. Scary things are usually good for you.
Thanks :) The parentals took it better than I'd expected - perhaps I have you to thank for that. After you packed up and headed for Europe, my plans must seem far less risky - LoL. I'm not going to look for any paid work until after Easter - I'm thinking of it as long service leave after 10 years in practice. thanks too for the link, I'll check it out.
Long service leave! Sounds like a great and fitting plan :) good Ick with it. I'm still directionless here, but have some paid work to tide me over. Decision time will be around April/May... Interesting times!
