Dreams, kittens & the upcoming weekend. :-)
This morning I had the strangest dream: there was suddenly a 2nd, additional stove on the middle of my boat, and I (concerned about it not being warm enough for the kittens = explanation further below) was stoking it. But instead of using fire-starters for the coal, I used great, massive broken bars of chocolate...
It oddly made me recall a poem that my primary school teacher had dug up for me at the end of exams; it was an extract from the Finnish Kalevala myth ( appropriately as my roots are from that region) describing ‘Anniki’ the ‘nimble, swift girl’ who fired up the sauna with storm-broken branches & twigs. Sounds terribly domestic (*laugh*), but it did come with a rhythmic swing that gave it a nice touch of drama (sauna is clearly considered a very serious matter in Finland).
But to explain the kittens ,the cat-search has been stalled by a sudden emergency.
I received a text yesterday morning from my friend Marta ~ & spent pretty much most of the day trying to work things out/texting back & forth to then rush home & panic clear my boat ( I’d just ripped all out to re-arrange furniture for the impending cat companion) in 80 min flat ( which also included my mobile suddenly playing up/not working & me ripping my thumb open with blood gushing everywhere... the way things do when you really have very little time in which to do a Lot), before she turned up with two kittens. It’s a long story, but they’re to stay with me for 10 days.
~ Right, that’s my news (well, a bit!) ~ I’ll hopefully see a massive bunch of you at Vagabonds for Lorena’s &erming ’s birthdays this weekend. :-D
