Flying in ~ flying out! (signing off LJ b4 Saturday)

*boooots, cooome*   *boooots, cooome*   ...dire straits will be experienced if the postman doesn’t put his skates on: viewing my current shoe collection I don’t think high heels is a great idea for trekking. It may have taken a while though to realise the ‘hole’ in my collection was not yet another pair of heels, but sturdy rubber soles… ha!

~ So, Yes, this is most likely my last report before I ascend above the clouds & descend into a strange new world of sugar skulls, flower decorations & weird Aztec-come-Catholic cheery death celebrations  - which is pretty much just a report of the expected high tempo:  some lovely last dinners with friends, between picking up passport, travel cards, insurance etc.  I’ve found a goth club in Mexico city that is still on! but as it’s on, on the very night of my arrival, it’s perhaps doubtful I’ll do anything but pass out in a bed... I'm an ooold gal, heh!  Weather is forecast to be 24c (nice) but rainy.

My LJ access will probably be intermittent whilst away. The hostels are *surprisingly* up to date with fancy websites, pre-booking & internet availability (gone are the days when backpacking was dingy places with dubious kitchens, you walked into towns with no idea where to sleep & only way you got there was via hitchhiking!) ( I may actually miss those days a wee bit...) (Although hitchhiking as a sole female in C. A. is probably not a good idea.) (But, hell, still somewhat tempting in a ‘meet the locals + adventure’ sense!) (argh, stop it, Anki!)… (no… Jenn: they are not all serial killers,*wink*) … but: going back to internet availability, it will be focused on main-stuff such as vital emails, upload travel card + update where I am going to, to Jenn/family - after which the pleasures of FB & LJ will be pending the thickness of my (not so) pesos filled wallet. I may have to apply restraint...

I don’t want to spend too much time behind the camera either, as I want to experience things first hand & not fall into the trap of staring at the world through the lens all the time ~ but I’ll commemorate the best so that you can get a sense of the place + get an idea of highlights should you want to go one day. :-)

~ So... here’s too the sunrises coming and the sunsets setting ~ which I hope to see all from colonial balconies or from the crest of dusty, brewing volcanoes. With a sugar skull or two in my pocket… If I’m lucky I’ll find a travel companion to hike too.. just perhaps a little bit…  ;-)

~ HASTA LUEGO, AMIGOS & AMIGAS!  I'll be high over the clouds, moaning over little leg room as you party away in Whitby & @ Vagabonds without me. :-D
