what a week it has been.
last night i went to veritas to see mike at work and a few friends, from there we went to his apartment, vegged out, watched tv, had some moments, and went to bed.
mike's sister graduated from umkc today, 26 and an m.d. ... makes me sick. while he ventured out early in the morning to kansas city, i woke up and got ready for leah's wake.
it's amazing how the loss of one person can effect so many people. we don't reflect on how lucky we are to have such wonderful people around us until they're gone. leah was one of the most genuine people i've known, always putting others above herself. it's still so unreal knowing i'll never see her smiling face again.
i'm putting a few hours of overtime in tomorrow, and will likely work everyday for the next week... maybe two. jess and i have picked out two dresses that may be "the ones" for her big day, tomorrow the final decisions going to be made, and we're working on the color themes and styles for the bridesmaids. at 3, i'm off to work. mike will be home that night, and i'm definetly going to savor every and any minute i can with him until he leaves. i'm excited. i really am... no, i'm not happy about being without him for the summer, but this is the adventure of a lifetime... something he'll always remember. our annual will be just a little over a week when he comes back, and my birthday, just a few weeks later. next summer we're going to ireland with his rugby team, and the year after that, there may just be something a little more expensive and memorable for both of us to look forward to ;)
