Dear Members of any LJ Community,
So you've joined a community. This means there are rules, and that you should follow them, and by the same rights, expect other people to follow them. In fact, this means that you should jump down the throat of someone who inadvertently breaks the rules. This especially holds true in a group meant to support other people like you. If you notice that 50,000 other people have bitched out the poster to kingdom come, feel free to make it 50,001. Don't just sit back and shut the fuck up. In fact, if you check the comments and see that just 1 person has made the rules clear to the original poster, then post a link to in in your journal so that the stupid poster can get snarked over and over by people who aren't even members of the comm. The poster obviously needs to be told over and over again just how she went wrong and why she's stupid. That's how you help people and win friends.
And furthermore, before calling someone a brat and demanding that they answer your question, don't bother to make sure you're replying to the person you actually asked the question of. It's better that way. Really.
Furthermore, what really helps support communities become happy, healthy places, is to nominate the bitchiest, rudest cunts you can find to moderate. Because what every person looking for support needs is someone who "cuts straight through the bullshit and gives blunt responses" when what is really necessary is some compassion.
