The Ups and The Downs
Yesterday was kind of a big deal for Eric and me. We cleaned out my van, the garage, took a bunch of stuff in for donation, and then drove to Brighton to pick up his new scooter.
Oh, did I mention that he bought both a motorcycle and a scooter off of eBay last week? I know I updated my FB status, but I can't remember if I mentioned it here.
Mid-afternoon we picked up the scooter and then drove to the Old Navy Outlet because I wanted to get some cheap "fat shorts". They aren't the best shorts in the world, but having had a recent weight gain I'm unwilling to put down money on decent pants. I have a lot of very nice jeans in my normal size which makes me frustrated with myself. I did a lot of shopping to find brands like Hudson, Lucky, and J Brand at prices I can afford and I refuse to start over in a large size. Anyhow...
I used the long drive to work a bit on my story. I've written about 6000 words so far and am barely started. I'm really into it though and scenes keep popping into my head so I figure I'd better write them down. Sadly, my laptop battery is crap and I could only write on the drive out, but still it was an accomplishment.
After our very quick shopping trip we headed home so Eric could meet the seller of the motorcycle who was driving in from Indiana to have it delivered. We had some anxiety that we wouldn't be back in time, but we were and it all worked out OK.
Today wasn't quite as eventful as yesterday. I slept funny and screwed up my neck. I think the pain was preventing me from really resting because when I finally used my electronic pulse massager on it I fell asleep afterward. Each and every time I used it, in fact. My left eye is also tender due to allergies which meant the left side of my head has been hurting all day. I really could do without it, but that's life.
I do hope it's better by tomorrow or I'm going to feel like I wasted my entire long weekend. Keep your fingers crossed for me, OK?
