Potentially Testing Someone's Internet Skillz

...don't mind me. (And the cover is *totally* hilarious, considering. I am not completely up on The Velvet Underground other than random songs.)

But ooh, this and the last flocked post reminds me of something else I used to listen to (below, Rasputina...paging moderntrickster, are you still around here? :-/ I hope you are ok. <3) - I am having to DIG for band ( Read more... )

Here's two shots from the EW shoot with Maisie and Kit:

Have you read GRRM's leaked original pitch from GOT? I imagine it was up on WS, but I honestly don't know what's going on in WS (I'm writing a post explaining where I've been).

I'm glad you're doing well! Sorry I can't help you with your music problem, I'm drawing a total blank. The only band I can think of with a S-name is Sigur Rós, which has nothing to do with what you're thinking of, but might be good writing/getting things done music? It's quite cinematic at times.

Lol, Kit's expression in that 2nd pic. My comment about Maisie was from some recent event, though.

And uh, yes, I am aware of GRRM's original pitch to his publisher. I posted it in greathouses, haha. Some guys on Reddit were trying to crack the blacked out paragraph, even!

My music problem is a SE/SW/Midwest regional touring band, most likely, so those can be tough. I probably should just look at a list of bands from Texas/plays in that style and see if something falls loose from the ole noggin. (The band name might not even start with an S...it has been a good 10 years since I saw the video/heard the song.) A lot of regional bands get a shot at one or two videos, so either they took off or faded into obscurity.

But yes, Sigur Rós might do nicely for my Getting Stuff Done musical arsenal. Thanks for the suggestion! <3

Ahh, gotcha. She's her usual adorable self at both the premiers so far, so I'm not sure which event that'd be.

Oh man. I want to know what those redacted paragraphs are SO BAD. I might have to look up this Reddit thing.

Mmm... Straight Shooter, Steady Rollers, Sidewinders (are based in New York but for some reason I think they're from Texas)... yeah, I got nothin. I am ashamed, I should know this genre.

I put a link...I think they finally gave up, though. (And haha, Waterstones wimped out and deleted their Twitter pics.)

I think they switched to a new thread @ Reddit, I dunno. I don't really use Reddit all that much.

And don't worry about the band name. Right now I have so much music swirling in my head I am almost dizzy with it. Very overwhelming and not really helpful. The only way I remembered Rasputina is via Melora Creager and I couldn't remember her last name at first. But when I saw it I remembered. Thankfully there aren't gobs of cellists named Melora, haha.
