Now you may or may not know that I really detest Oasis now. No offence to fans (I know I'll never win on this one...the masses really are against me). Definately Maybe was great. I also hate Coldplay. (Parachutes came in at number 14.) Please glance back and note that it beat not only Jeff Buckley "Grace" but also Beach Boys "Pet Sounds". I am sure that I am not alone in thinking both of those albums deserved to be in the top 10. A lot of my preferred albums did come in much lower than I would have expected, but we are indeed dealing with the general public so I would never have been that happy with the results. Why did they pick "The LIbertines" over "Up the Bracket"? I am still mystified. VSB came round after work and was amused to see me so furious about the countdown. I believe many of my favourites should have been higher up. And I'm not even grumbling about The Mars Volta not being in there. But Odelay at number 73? Different Class at 70?
I fucking hate the "general public". Twats.
