Asuka immediately looks up when he sees the feather, checking around for any of the demonic red flying things. He creeps closer to the feather, alternating between checking his footing and looking back to the skies, then kneels to pick it up.]
I really hope there are no more of those things around...

He forces himself onward, looking around to see if he can figure out how they died--not that it's really that hard a guess, considering the feathers he's seen around. But he has to give himself a reason for continuing onwards, because otherwise he's just going to turn tail and run. He's never seen this many dead bodies before, and he is so unnerved by all of this it's not even funny.]
We have to burn them.
[He forces himself to unclench his fists, the feather he'd been holding dropping crumpled to the ground. It's one of the Maiden's creeds, to burn all one's dead, and even if she may not be out there any more (oh, Maiden, and that is one mindfuck he doesn't even want to start thinking about), it's still a good idea. They need to get rid of any remnant of the End, and if these people are dead because of the weird flying things ( ... )
