[There's an enormous explosion that rocks the boat violently, and then something that feels like an earthquake. Items will fall off shelves, passengers will be thrown off their feet, and walls will peel off

[Things have gone past ridiculous and into downright dangerous on the boat. Kobato, quite frankly, is getting tired of it. She's worried all the time and the recent turn of events have only increased her worry. The worst is coming and coming quickly if what's been going on with the boat lately is any inclination.

She needs some fresh air. Time alone to just breathe and think. So she heads up to the top deck, but as she reaches the top the ship suddenly shakes.]

AHH!

[She topples face first onto the open deck.]

Ow~

[Pushing herself up she's able to settle into a sitting position on the floor.]

What was...WHAT!! THE SKY!! THE...[Her voice cuts off. What is that?

She's so distracted she has yet to realize she's not alone.]

[Licking his lips, Gambler's eyes are bright.]

Isn't it beautiful?

[His voice sidetracks her from her staring. She looks around quickly until she spots him.]

Oh! Hello.

Um, what do you mean? Do you know what's going on?

[She makes a vague gesture to the sky and the thing currently occupying it.]

Oh ... no I don't know!

Well, I mean I suppose I do, really.

I don't understand.

[Confused Kobato is confused.]

[Gambler says nothing.

He eyes Kobato hungrily, then glances at the red mist.]

[...Why is staring at her like that?]

um...what is it? What is that thing?

It's called The End.

It's very hungry, it says it would like to taste you.

[Gambler reaches for Kobato.]

[The End? Isn't that what the bird lady called the...Oh hell no.]

[When he reaches for her she quickly pushes herself back.

This guys not a passenger is he. Maybe it's time to get out of here.]

[Grinning darkly, he taps his fist to his chest.]

You can call me Gambler.

Well, if you do it quickly at least. You probably won't be able to catch your breath in there, it hurts a lot from what I hear.

[He makes a grab for her again.]

[Did he just read her mind? What's going on?!]

The people in the boat! They're hurting?!

[She sees that. No you don't. She turns away, accidentally smacking him with her basket.]

Not yet. But they will soon!

[If Kobato doesn't run, and fast, Gambler will grab her by the arm and fling her off the boat towards great red mass.]

[She has to help them!

She wants to know more, but this man is clearly no friend. It's dangerous here and people are hurting.

Decision made, she runs. She doesn't even look back at the man as she heads back the way she came.]

[Gambler could chase her but this is a once in a lifetime show. He'd rather watch the ship go down.]

[He had his chance and it passed. Kobato has completely vanished into the depths of the ship. She's gone.]
