(no subject)
Another turn-around. We arrived at the house last Thursday evening - in time to get the recycle and trash onto the curb for morning pickup. Spent most of last week at the farm attempting to keep the new cannas from giving up by giving them a drink. Also tried my hand at planting a couple onions. If those make it I'll be surprised, but not unhappy.
While at the house I got caught up on "moving type mail" - the connection at the farm is so slow that attempting to watch a YouTube or other thing isn't worth the effort. It doesn't make sense to listen to 3 words followed by silence and then 3 more words.
Got my grocery shopping caught up, the laundry done, and T'B got the dandelions mowed down - again. That'll be an ongoing thing. Had the pleasure of eating breakfast at the Golden Corral buffet with a former coworker and his wife.
Still messing with the taxes. It looks as if we don't have enough to file a sched A (even after finding some more deductions), and that we'll have to pay the piper this year. Consequently, won't plan to write a check until the end of next week - after our payday. That floats, but April falls early, so will be able to write the check without having to 'borrow' from savings.
The new house planning has inched forward. It looks as if we may be able to actually afford to do it. It's now back to the architect for more drawings so the builder can give us a "real" quote.
T'B has said we can go to DemiCon - so I'll have the opportunity to meet some of you folks. Looking forward to that!
Back to the farm later today, and so expect no posts. When we return it will be opening weekend for Scarborough Faire and so won't be posting then either. Do any of you attend? If so, I'd be happy to try to meet you somewhere during the course of the weekend.
