Good for you, K-chan.

A private company hired by the UK government to help unemployed disabled people find jobs was, amongst themselves, referring to their clients as "LTBs." That is, "lying, thieving bastards."

In response, people in Britain with disabilities have begun to recount the abusive things they've heard under the Twitter hashtag #heardwhilstdisabled. According to this article forwarded by
ginasketch, such comments include:- "Shut up you whining bugger". Said to my 5yo disabled son by local Lib Dem candidate.

- "Why don't you just try hard to walk better?"

- "Why would a disabled person want to use the gym?" CEO of Littlehampton Sports & Swimming Centre

- 'He should grow thicker skin' when partner told guy off who joked about my disability- then spat on her

- "Couldn't you get your chair into a normal fitting room? We use the accessible one for storage."

- "You're so bright & articulate. You shouldn't be disabled."
And
keori is in there, too. A stranger asked her and her then-SO, reptilian_muse, who was using a wheelchair at the time, "How do you have sex?" She responded, "Better than you do." LOL.

Unlocked.
