ETA: A good memorial post on the Montreal Massacre by Janet D. Stemwedel, who has dealt with plenty of misogyny herself from fellow "skeptics." Money paragraph:There is no amount of toughening up that would have saved these fourteen women from the bullets that were fired at them for the crime of being female in a male domain.

ETA II: The dismissal of misogyny continues - and, yes, I know the National Post is right wing. A d00d presumes to tell feminists to stop making a shooting spree in which the killer stated he hated feminists all about feminism, because bitchez calling attention to their oppression gives menz' boners a sad, and anyway four men got injured. Be more like the Amish, who are so enlightened about gender issues, aren't they, and don't make a big fuss about it when bitchez get slaughtered. And he got plenty of praise in comments, where it is held that giving a shit about gendered violence is "hating men."
Good rebuttal in the same newspaper. With lots of whining, racism (Lépine was half-Arab), and slurs like "mangina" in the comments.
