Nuns, your go-to source for info about sex and reproduction

I would really rather not watch the anti-contraception video created by a bunch of right-wing nuns in Ohio that has been posted at DailyKos, Jezebel, and Joe.My.God. because I would like to retain those precious brain cells, but here is the summary of things you may learn from it:

1. Hormonal birth control makes women undesirable to men, because they interfere with pheromones. "Studies" prove that men are more attracted to "average, fertile women than they are even to supermodels."

2. Because women aren't as attractive to men anymore, they've become uber-sluts to try to attract men.

3. When the majority of women are "contracepting" (now there's a verb usage that lets you know you're speaking with a Catho-fundie nutcase), men are confused because they no longer find these women desirable.. so they turn gay. This was proven by a 1972 study by scientist (and MRA nutjob) Lionel Tiger in which female monkeys were given Depo-Provera, which caused the alpha male monkey to stop fucking them and start fucking the beta males instead.

4. The pill will alter your moods, make you gain weight, reduce your libido, and kill you with stroke caused by blood clots. Whew, glad to know that there's a perfectly safe alternative that has never killed, stressed out, dehornified, or fattened a single woman in history: Pregnancy and labor! In fact, pregnancy isn't a risk; it's a privilege. LOL:Fistulas and hemorrhaging during childbirth are God's way of slapping your vagina high five. And gestational diabetes is like eating ice cream with the Virgin Mary.
The nuns are furious that whether or not a woman was "contracepting" is not even mentioned on her death certificate.

5. Taking the pill is murdering babies, because a fertilized egg is a "baby," and "we're also going to pretend that there is scientific evidence to prove that fertilized egg implantation is prevented by the Pill."

6. The estrogen in the water supply is making us all into "transsexuals." That must be true because of all the fish being born infertile.

7. Birth control also causes adultery, divorce, and STDs.

8. There's no such thing as overpopulation, because everyone on earth could be fit into a space the size of Texas (there is no mention of petty concerns like enough food, water, and sanitation for this space). The human race is in danger of dying out. (Babies who were born via IVF don't count.) The maker of the original birth control pill therefore regrets having ever produced it.

9. The CIA wants "us" to have more babbies. "Us" only being some of us. You see, women in "good countries" like Russia and Germany in the U.S. aren't popping out enough babbies. The only reason the American birth rate is just "high enough" to sustain a "healthy" population is ... dun dun DUNNNNN... immigration. To paraphrase something I saw last week, this isn't so much a dogwhistle as an 180-piece brass band.

10. It's not your place to decide whether or not to have children. "Birth control mentality" is evil because it makes women think we're in charge of our own lives, rather than GAWD. How dare we decide to exercise the free will GAWD allegedly gave us and have some purpose in life other than being baby factories?

11. Birth control leads to bestiality. It allows us to have sex whenever we want without getting pregnant - just like animals do!! And that means none of us have any standards or ethics at all when it comes to sex. Ergo, Brian in California who boinked his dog while listening to the Bloodhound Gang? Totally birth control's fault.

12. Birth control leads to child molestation and NAMBLA, presumably for similar "reasons."

13. Getting sterilized is bad. Actual quote: "If you had a valuable racehorse, because of its worth, you'd want it to have as many offspring as possible. But the value of a horse is nothing compared to the infinite value of each and every person." Yes, because the value of a thinking, reasoning creature whose human potential may not be best expressed by having children should be esteemed in precisely the same way as the value of an animal bred to entertain rich people and genetically incapable of doing anything else with its life but running.

14. A bunch of dead men in robes, such as Augustine, Jean Calvin (LOL), and Martin Luther (double LOL) thought contraception is bad and GAWD would strike you dead for using it.
