Wow. Taking a pledge with your hand over your heart to vote for Dear Leader Obama isn't creepy at all, is it?
As K-chan writes, Obama not only sure as shit hasn't ceded any of the power that Congress gave Bush II after 9/11, but has been trying to grab even more of it. And this in the context of militarized law enforcement, with suppression of dissent at a level that has alarmed UN envoys on Human Rights into requesting protection for protesters.
"And now we have the Executive calling for his supporters to put their hand over their hearts and pledge their loyalty in a show of support."
Oh, and on the purely petty side, did anyone else think of this immediately?
