"To protect and serve"
A bunch of Occupy folks turned out to counterprotest the Massachusetts Tea Party's Patriots Day rally. Rally speakers included Scott Lively, who is trying to incite genocide against GLBT people in Africa; local pro-homophobe Brian Camenker, and the Boston Herald's pet lunatic Don Feder.
Reports are still coming in, but from what I gather from this article and various tweets, the Boston Police, one cop in particular, singled out anti-homophobia protestors for abuse:
" You know what's sick? In a long face off between homophobic #TeaParty bigots & pro-queer protesters, the most violence came from #BPD."
I'm sure the excuses, whether delivered smugly and placidly or with foam dripping from muzzles, will be forthcoming tomorrow from knee-jerk cop defenders and other authoritarians. ETA: Oh, wait, here we go already. To quote
keori on Twitter, "Plz remind the whiny liberal that USA is NOT broke, just giving $ hand over fist to the Vulture class. That's why we protest!"
