At each campaign stop this season, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) has been invoking "the Republican glory days of the 1980s" with the following joke:"Remember when Ronald Reagan was president. We had Bob Hope. We had Johnny Cash. Think about where we are today. We have got President Obama. But we have no hope and we have no cash.” It draws hoots of laughter and applause every time.
Johnny Cash's daughter
wasn't too happy about that.
I imagine that this would be her father's reaction.
Also, ABC News had invited professional liar and smearmonger Andrew Breitbart to help cover the elections for them. Now the chief of their digital division has forwarded to Greg Sargent of the Plum Line
the email he sent to Breitbart:Dear Mr. Breitbart,
We have spent the past several days trying to make clear to you your limited role as a participant in our digital town hall to be streamed on ABCNews.com and Facebook. The post on your blog last Friday created a widespread impression that you would be analyzing the election on ABC News. We made it as clear as possible as quickly as possible that you had been invited along with numerous others to participate in our digital town hall. Instead of clarifying your role, you posted a blog on Sunday evening in which you continued to claim a bigger role in our coverage. As we are still unable to agree on your role, we feel it best for you not to participate.
Sincerely,
Andrew Morse
Excuse me if I don't line up to congratulate ABC for "doing the right thing." They hired a total lying asshole because they figured he would boost their ratings. They deserved to get burnt just as much as Blightshart deserved to get fired.
I imagine the tea cracker hordes are already screaming about the "violation" of his "First Amendment right" to appear on ABC and insisting that the network be "defunded." Snicker.
Unlocked.
