Kenshin was in the bathroom, taking a shower. He had never gotten used to the whole relaxing bath thing. He preferred good old fashioned American showers. He heard the phone ring and darted out of his shower while grabbing his towel. Hair dripping, he made it to the phone in time to hear the tail end of the message, but was too late to pick up the reciever. After playing the message again, he called his father's workplace

" WHAT!!! It's too damn late for room service!" Chii said as she opened the door. She looked up at Kenshin and half-smiled. " Your not roomservice." She jump-hugged him despite her heart feeling like it weighed a thousand pounds. She smiled at him and let him into her room. Chii sat on her small bed and told Kenshin the whole story, neglecting to explain just why she mamed her long hair. She almost cried, thinking about just what she would do, and she asked, " What can I do know?"
Kenshin listened to Chii's story from beginning to end without interrupting, then, when she had finished, he sat next to her on the bed and took her hand in his. "Well," he said, in response to her question, "you can't go back to *him*. I mean, you can, and I won't stop you, but I don't think you have any reason to anymore. He has no power over you. You can come and stay with me. My father won't mind if I explain what's going on, I don't think." Kenshin surprised himself with ths idea, but he knew that now that he'd said it, there was no way he was going to take the offer back.
" I can't. He has me now. Without my mother, and I am not yet seventeen, I have to stay with my gardian. I just Don't know." She said, Looking out of her open window. She saw a glinting light and walked over to her window. " There's someone up there with a camera...a video camera!"
"What!?" Asked Kenshin. The he stopped and calmed down, without looking out the window, he said, "pretend like you didn't notice him, I'll be right back." Kenshin walked over to the door, which was out of sight from the window, and went through the hotel, through the kitchens, and out the back door into an alley way. He followed the alley way to the next cross street and took off his cloak, so that he wouldn't be immediately recognizable as he crossed the street. He crossed the street, hiding in the rush of people around him, and when he got the far side of the street, he went to the next back alley and followed it until he got to the building that was directly across the street from the hotel. He climbed a convenient dumpster to get in reach of the fire escape to the roof, and put his cloak back on and pulled out his dagger before continuing. He climbed to the roof as quietly as possible and when he reached the top, he saw two figures, facing away from him, so he couldn't see their faces. "You two come here often?" Kenshin asked,

When there was no response, Kenshin walked toward the shadows, dagger drawn. As he got closer, he realized that the shapes were just airvents, backlighted against a street light. He walked to the edge of the roof, feeling like an idiot, and realized that the building he was on was not, in fact, the one across from the hotel. He was one building away, and since the building next door was a floor higher, whoever was spying on Chii would probably have spotted him and moved to a different location. If this was the case, they would be a lot harder to spot now. Suddenly a thought struck him, the people who were spying on Chii may try to hurt her, and he was here! Without stopping first to see the offchance that the stalker hadn't noticed him, he ran back to the hotel as fast as he could, cloak flapping in his wake. He knocked on the door, 'Please be okay, please be okay...'
Chii had left the hotel room to see if the front desk had a phone book so that she could reach Andy, if she did indeed have a phone, in which chii was confident she did.
Kenshin's heart was leaping in his throat at this point. When there was no answer after a few minutes, Kenshin opened the door and barged into the room. When he found no one in there, he panicked. After frantically searching the entire hotel room, including under the bed for some unimaginable reason, he ran to the lobby to ask if the clerk there had seen Chii. He was running so fast that he actually slammed into the counter. It took him a minute to realize that the girl standing at the counter next to him reading the phone book was Chii, because of her new look. When he realized it, he was so relieved that, without thinking, he went to kiss her...
"Kenshin no Baka!" Chii screamed, nearly falling to the floor. She felt asthough her personal boundries had for some reason been raped, and when she regained her sense, she had her hand just inches from Kenshin's face. She stopped herself and recoverd from the shock rather quickly. " What was that? I'm sorry. Why were you-" Chii said "... I'm sorry." She bowed at kenshin and curved a glance at the woman at the counter. Her hands were shaking and her mind was going tepid. All the shock from this evening was getting to her nerves. She put her hand to her forehead and seated herself at the couch that was in the lobby.
"I... I'm... I... sorry, I..." Kenshin was mortified, but only until his one-track mind caught up with him. "You're okay! Only, I was across the street, and they were gone, but they may still be there, but they were gonna get you, and I had to come back here, and you were gone and they got you, *but they didn't get you*, but they could have, but you're here and you're safe, and Chii, I'm so happy." Upon stopping to breathe, Kenshin regained some manner of concsious thought. "Look, Chii, is there some reason why anyone would be following you? An enemy, or a friend of your father's or something that wanted to keep tabs on you?" Silently in the back of his mind, he chalked up fear as one of those things he was going to have to look out for...
" ummm..." She said, her heart was still palpitating at an alarming rate, and she had analized his train of thought at least a dozen times before she could awnser in a coherent fashion. " I don't think so. My step-dad's way up there, but he keeps his hands clean of what he defines as ' benith him and his family.'"
"Well can you think of anyone?" Kenshin asked. "Kazuya is powerful enough, could he be holding some kind of grudge or something? Or have you pissed anyone off lately?" Kenshin paused, "Well, whoever it is, we need to se if we can get out of here."
" Are you suggesting that I piss people off? I don't know what the hell your so paranoid about, it's probably some sushi delivery guy making money off videos of girls dressing online. I don't care, really. I get stuff like that happening in the girls locker room all the time... By the way, I really need to talk to andy about all of this, but I don't know her phone number... Do you know it? I was thinking of going to spend the night at her place untill I figure out where I am going with my life." She said, pausing a few times while she spoke her mind.
"Right, back to business then, I guess." Kenshin was not thrilled about the idea of someone spying on Chii, especially since he had no clue who or why. In the back of his mind, Kenshin decided to make it his business to find out who it was, meanwhile, Chiisuchine apparently had other things on her mind. "I don't know her number, but we could go to her house if you want. Or you could stay at my place, like I said before."
" I am sorry, But it just is not right for me to stay at your house... I will stay with Andrea until tomorrow, if she lets me. Then we can figure out this whole thing together... I hope she dosen't mind us coming over so late." Chii said, standing and making her way to the door. She turned back to kenshin, " Are you coming?"
