On etiquette
I've stalled lately. I read What Was She Thinking for my book club, and since then I've been trying to work through a couple of etiquette guides. So far I've learned a couple useful things, but nothing that's made me smack my head at the embarassment I've unwittingly caused others over the years as a result of my uncouth behaviour (oh trust me, I'm aware of some serious gaffes that I've made, but I knew them before I laid eyes on these books).
Anyway, the etiquette reading (in case you're curious, I picked them up because it occurred to me that I might be at a couple of events in the near future where a level of formality with which I am not all that accustomed is in order. Then again, I may be wrong about that -- but always better to acquire knowledge than lose it, right?
