My little brother meets suicide.

I'm reading a message on myspace from my little brother. He's 18 and wants to kill himself. I'm so upset right now. We've already lost a childhood friend to suicide this year and I'm scared that my brother will end up the same. He's too young to bury and he tells my Mom that everything's ok. He tells us all that. I need some advice and comfort

I'm sorry :( I dont really know what you could say to him at this point other than try to get him to realize how selfish of an act suicide is. Just because your life is less than perfect at the moment is no reason to ruin the lives of people who live you forever. It effects far more people than you think, people you think dont even care about you anymore that you have lost touch with will be deeply hurt when they hear the news, not to mention your poor family. Its just a very very selfish decision to make. Try to find out why he is even considering that and go from there, thats what I would do, get to the root of the problems and fix them. And remind him how he felt when someone he knew did the same thing (if it has happened to him, I'm sure it has).

I cant believe he would even think something like that...after what everyone went through with TJ thats so selfish! Sallie just know that everything is going to be ok!!! I remember there were times when I didnt want to live, but I would never have done anything about it! You need to just let him know that you are there for him and that he needs to think of how his decision will affect the family and especially your mom! I will def be praying...

He is being selfish, he always has been - you know this. I don't know what he could possibly be depressed about, he made his own decisions. I'm getting ready to call him. Thank you hun.
